Choosing your court colours
The 11-colour palette, the contrast rules that make a court look professional, heat considerations, and the proven combinations to start from.

Colour is the most personal call in the whole design — and the place where a court goes from "slab with lines" to something that genuinely lifts the look of the property. A few principles make every combination work.
The palette
Eleven UV-stable colours — Pine, Fern, Solar, Lava, Crimson, Plum, Indigo, Lagoon, Stone, Slate and Obsidian — mixable across the four zones of a court: the main surface, the key/zone, the run-off, and the edging. Lines come in white or any palette colour.
Contrast is the whole game
- ✓Key vs main: pick two colours with clearly different depth (Indigo + Stone, Pine + Stone, Crimson + Indigo) — the contrast is what makes a court read as professional
- ✓Lines vs everything: lines must contrast both the main and key colours — white is the safe, sharp default
- ✓Run-off: a darker or more neutral run-off frames the playing surface like a picture mount
Think about heat
Dark tiles run hotter underfoot in full summer sun — same physics as dark pavers. If your court faces a full western sun, consider a mid-tone main (Lagoon, Stone, Fern) and keep Obsidian and Slate for the key, run-off or edging where feet spend less time.
Proven combinations
- ✓Classic — Indigo main, Stone key: the signature court-blue look
- ✓Deep Blue — Indigo + Lagoon: tonal, coastal, very current
- ✓Forest — Pine + Stone: settles beautifully into gardens
- ✓Cherry — Crimson + Indigo: bold, club-style
- ✓Mono Grey — Stone + Slate: architectural, lets the lines do the talking
- ✓USAPA Classic — Lagoon + Pine: the recognised pickleball pairing

Edging
The bevelled edging is its own colour zone. Obsidian edging is the default on our ready-made courts for a reason — a thin black frame finishes any combination. Matching the edging to the run-off is the softer alternative.
Colours swap live in the designer and on every ready-made court — the fastest way to decide is honestly to flick through a few combinations on your actual court shape.
