How much space do you need?
A practical method for measuring your yard, the clearances that matter, slope reality — and every ready-made court size in one table.

Before colours, before sports — measure. Ten minutes with a tape measure answers most of the questions people email us, so here's exactly what to do.
- 1Measure the usable rectangle
Find the biggest clear rectangle in your space — exclude paths you need to keep, garden beds, and anything immovable. Note both dimensions, not just the obvious one.
- 2Subtract sensible clearances
Keep at least half a metre to fences and walls, and ideally a metre or more behind a basketball baseline — players chase the ball off the court at speed.
- 3Check the slope
Stretch a string line or lay a long level. A near-flat site is straightforward; a fall of more than a few centimetres across the court means a new slab (or cut-and-fill) rather than laying over what's there.
- 4Look up
Branches, eaves and wires matter above a hoop — you want clear air above the backboard and the arc of a high shot.
- 5Match it to a size
Compare your rectangle against the table below — and remember the designer builds tile-by-tile, so anything between these sizes is fair game too.
| Court | Overall size | Area | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driveway Basketball Court | 4.12 m × 5.04 m | 20.8 m² | $1,017 |
| Free-Throw Basketball Court | 5.95 m × 9.00 m | 53.6 m² | $2,624 |
| 3-Point Half Court | 8.08 m × 10.22 m | 82.6 m² | $4,048 |
| Large Half Court (3×3 Regulation) | 15.10 m × 10.22 m | 154.3 m² | $7,558 |
| Full Basketball Court | 16.31 m × 29.42 m | 480.0 m² | $23,519 |
| Regulation Pickleball Court | 6.26 m × 13.57 m | 84.9 m² | $4,160 |
| Pickleball Court with Run-Off | 7.48 m × 14.79 m | 110.6 m² | $5,417 |
| Compact Multi-Sport Court | 15.10 m × 9.61 m | 145.1 m² | $7,107 |
| Pro Multi-Sport Court | 18.45 m × 11.13 m | 205.4 m² | $10,064 |

Between sizes? That's normal.
Courts are built from 304.8 mm tiles, so the designer can build any whole-tile size — the nine above are just proven starting points. Size the court to your space, not the other way round.
Then stand it in your yard — before you buy
Every design has an AR view: open it on your phone and the court stands on your actual lawn or driveway at true 1:1 size. It's the single best gut-check for "will it feel right here?" — and it's free.
